Hello Michael, The blue washer is a little bigger hole compared to the red, it's to restrict water flow to (depending you HP) will give your cleaner more flow or a little less.

Thank you for contacting Inyo Pools, POLARIS 180 280 380 UWF RESTRICTOR DISKS RED & BLUE Fits the Polaris 180, 280, 380, 480 The uwf restrictor disk (red & blue) is designed to fine tune the water pressure to the UWF to achieve a proper wheel rpm between 28-32 revolutions per minute. Install either the red disc (smaller hole) or blue disc (larger hole) if water pressure is too high and adjust with the relief valve
