Hi Tom, The Black (LINE), White (NEUTRAL) and Green (GROUND) wires connects to the motor and the 3 prong end plugs into the wall socket and twist to lock.

Hi Lora, For safety reasons an extension cord is not recommended to be used with these pump power cord. The cord have to be plugged directly into an outlet or timer.

If you are wiring the motor 115v then yes this cord can be used. If being wired 230v then no it cannot be used.

Hello Bonnie.  If you are wiring the Hayward Super Pump in the 115V configuration and need a twist lock plug, then the Hayward Pool Products Twist Lock Power Cord part number SPX1550WA1 is compatible.  If the installation requires a standard 3 prong plug then the Pureline 3-prong power plug part number 3118-0 is compatible.  Please note: The manufacturer recommends a hardwire installation for this pump.  3-Prong Pump Power Cord, 6', 14 GA, 115V - SPX1250WA
