Why should I purchase the heavy duty seal?

The heavy duty shaft seal features carbon graphite, stainless steel, and Viton rubber. The properties of this seal contribute to the resistance of chemical corrosion. This is the best choice for salt chlorine generators or ozonators.

Hi, Nick. The plastic cup is a spacer that the Ceramic piece will fit into. To assemble it, use this Diagram

Hello Darrell.  The U. S. Seal Manufacturing Pump Seal 2131, Heavy Duty PS3869 (Saltwater Polls) is the correct shaft seal for the Hayward Power Flo Matrix Pump model SP15932SFP.

Does this fit a PowerFlow Matrix SP1592 using a Century SP1510Z motor? I bought what looks to be the same kit from a local store, but the seal does not fit over the impeller shaft. There is no external cup in the pump housing SP5500 and the impeller SP1500L has two protrusions on the shaft which prevents the seal from being put on the wrong way.

Hello, you will have to remove the metal piece to install the shaft seal-- that metal piece is a leftover from the original seal and requires removal for the installation of the new seal.
