My above ground pool is not completely flat on the bottom. Will the NE357 work in this case?

If your pool has only slight ripples or small variation in its flatness, then this product will work well for your needs. I currently own an Intex 18'x48" pool, which I purchased from Walmart. It is one of those "easy set" pools with an inflatable ring on top. I puchased vinyl stairs instead of the ladder that came with the pool. I would like to buy an automatic pool cleaner that runs off its own power supply, and does not rely on the pool's pump. My concerns are that the Intex pool has wrinkles on the bottom of it, and the vinyl stairs may interfere with the pool cleaner. I would also the pool cleaner to work with

The above ground robotic cleaners are not made to climb walls. There is too much vibration that would wear down the sides of your swimming pools. So the robotic cleaners available will only clean the bottom of your swimming pool. In my opinion the best Above Ground Robotic cleaner is the Pool Rover Jr. made by Aqua Products and it will work well in your pool.

What is the difference between the Pool Rover and Pool Rover Jr.?

We spoke with Aqua Products the manufacture of the Pool Rover and Pool Rover Jr. and they stated the only difference between these 2 cleaners is cosmetic differences on the body of the cleaner. Aqua Products told us that both cleaners will function identically.

Hi Sherry, You can just put the cleaner in the pool and let it do it's job. No need to watch it, unless your like me and like to watch it pick up all the dirt =)

I bought an "Industrial Pool Rover" from a garage sale... It looks like your Pool Rover Jr. I didn't realize it was for Above Ground Pools Only... I have an 18' x 36' inground pool (3' in shallow in and the rest is 4 1/2' deep) (otherwise the bottom is flat with no drains, etc.) I would be delighted if this would work in my inground pool.

Hello Tillie, Most information I was able to acquire on the Industrial Pool Rover indicates it is designed for vinyl lined pools. My only suggestion would be to connect it up and see how it performs in your pool. If it will not climb the walls or move much, then it would not be compatible.

I'm sorry but my question was not really answered. I realize that the Pool Rover is designed for an above ground pool. Will it absolutely not work in an inground pool (18 x 36... 3 feet deep in shallow end, then a drop to 4:1/2 feet deep for the majority of the pool..with a flat bottom.) Can it clean part of the pool and do the shallow end by hand? I can't try it out as the pool is at our vacation cabin.

Hello Tillie, The reason it is only made for above ground is because the bottom needs to be a continuous flat bottom, you say yours goes from 3' to 4 1/2' deep. If you would like to ask Aqua Products 800-221-1750 about whether it would work and it's an option.
