Rainforest Guide

Now that you have chosen the style of waterfall you like. You need to figure out the Length of your waterfall and the lip size. The Rainforest pool waterfall comes in a choice of 8 different sizes, with 4 lip sizes. Below is a chart of the different sizes available for the Pool Waterfall and also shows the dimensions of the actual waterfall.

Pump used for PVC Waterfalls
Your waterfall will need its own pump. The pump you choose depends on the size of your waterfall. For the Rainforest waterfalls we recommend 5 Gallons Per Minute (GPM) for every foot of width. So if you purchase a 4 Ft. (48") Rainforest waterfall you will need a pump that outputs 20 GPM (4 Ft X 5 GPM = 20 GPM). The Hayward Super II pump is an ideal Pump for PVC Waterfalls. Below is the Performance chart for the Super II at 50' of head. This is a typical head pressure, but you should figure the total amount of head on your pump if you do not know (for more information on calculating your pump GPM click here).

You can use one pump for more than one waterfall. For example if you have 2 - 48" waterfalls you would want a pump that can output at least 40 GPM.The size of your plumbing will also determine the HP of pump you will need. To determine what size plumbing you should use from the pump to the waterfall please use the chart below.
