Spa Jets

Q: What is the GPM for my jet?

A: You need to know what kind of jet you have to determine the flow rate. Typically most spa jets require 10-12 GPM per jet. So if you have 10 jets you would require a pump that has a GPM rating of 100 - 120 GPM There are some jets that require much more than the 10 - 12 GPM so it is always good to double check the flow rating for your jet before purchasing a pump for your spa.

Q: How far back should the nozzle be on my spa jet?
No more than 4” away from wall.
No less than 2 1/2” away from wall.
(Waterway Plastics does make extension kits.)

Q: Water backs up into the blower or no air comes out of jets?
Check hp of motor for g.p.m. How many jets are in the spa? You should have 10-12g.p.m. per jet.
Check retainer ring:
(a)Retainer ring does not have Teflon tape around thread or not enough.
(b) Retainer ring is not threaded in all the way, you may need to extend length with 1” coupler.
(c) Retainer ring and 1” pipe is not glued in all the way so that it is flush with the wall.
(d) If you have a monster jet you must have the proper nozzle in jet.
