Product Description

Use our new Clear pool solar blankets to heat your pool faster. Our solar blankets are laced with air bubbles that act as an insulating layer, shielding your pool from cool winds and nighttime cooling (for installation, the blanket goes bubble side down). In addition, our clear blankets allow more solar heat to reach the depths of your pool and heat it thoroughly. Our blankets are made of extra-thick 12-gauge material so they will outlast most other above-ground blankets on the market. They are backed by a 5-Year Warranty. Invest in the solar blanket that will give you the best heating you can buy — Clear.

I have a above ground pool reel. Does this cover have the seam in the middle to attach the straps as to not tear the cover?

A  Answered on 8/21/2019 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi, Walter. The location of the seams vary depending on how the cover is cut.

I’m looking at your 18’ round clear solar blanket. What exactly is needed if I buy a reel to deploy it and roll it back up. I’m looking for part numbers (for the reel, any accessories for mounting the reel, etc). Also, is a reel required? At 15 lbs for the blanket, it seems like it could be rolled up and laid on the ground beside the pool when not in use. Thanks!

Hi, P. Above Ground Pool Solar Reel System includes all the components for installation. Only storage systems and covers are sold separately. You do not have to use a reel system, you can manually place or remove the cover from the pool or use the Solar Saddle System

A  Answered on 4/18/2017 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi, Rosemary. You will need an Above Ground Solar Cover Reel. I would recommend removing the automatic pool vacuum from the pool.

I just purchased a solar blanket. Does it go on the pool bubble side up or down?

A  Answered on 9/27/2012 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

The solar blankets are installed on the pool bubble side down.

Does the solar cover come with an overlap like a winter cover does?

A  Answered on 1/30/2012 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

No, the solar cover does not come with an overlap. A solar cover is designed to sit on top of the water's surface and fits on the inside perimeter of the pool wall.

No, the manufacturer does not finish or heat seal the edges on custom sized solar blankets.

What is the benefit of the clear solar blanket over the blue one?

A  Answered on 6/25/2006 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

First, the clear solar blanket is thicker than the blue; the clear is 12 mil thick while the blue is 8 mil. Secondly, the clear allows the sun to pass through the blanket thus heating the water better.  The blue blanket tends to absorb the heat itself so the blanket gets hot, not the water.  Lastly, the clear blanket has a 5 year warranty as opposed to the 3 year warranty for the blue.
