If I am currently on chlorine do I have to drain pool or anything, or can I just install salt generator and check/adjust levels? I will be reopening pool in 2 weeks after the winter and am considering buying this. Also will other brands of cells work with this model or only crystal pure?

No you do not have to drain the pool for salt systems can just be added to regular chlorinated swimming pools. Then salt will need to be added. The same manufacturer model cells need to be used on this system.

Currently I use a de filter system I here about salt water what are the advantages of this system versus standard chemicals that I use. does it reduce the amount of chemicals needed?

These salt water systems daily generate chlorine for your pool so you would not need to use shock treatments, tablets and reduce the algae blooms as long as the system works well. You do still need to monitor all the other chemical levels in the pool and your acid usage will increase with these systems.

Cons: need better instructions from manufacturer.
My pool never looked so clear .It was the only way to go! The instructions could have been a little clearer esp. about the electrical hookup. Other than that it went in smoothly.

it work good for two years and they said it has under warranty but they know when i bought and shipping address to send and they said we can find the order number so they can replace it and they do not sell it any more

Installed this unit two years ago and never had an issue. My pool is 12,000 gals and it makes plenty of chlorine at a low setting

Simple to install, simple to use. I reduced the fittings down to 1-1/2" and glued it right up after my filter. Works perfectly. Pool is crystal clear.
