Optional Add-On Accessories

Salt Cell Cleaning Stand

This cleaning stand simplifies cell cleaning and eliminates having to soak the cell in a bucket of muriatic acid solution. This Cleaning stand is used for PureLine Crystal Pure salt cells. You should clean your salt cell every 2 months to avoid calcium build up on your salt cell. By cleaning your salt cell regularly you will prolong the life of the cell. Also if you get too much calcium build up on the salt cell then the system will stop producing chlorine, regular cleanings ensure that your salt system will not stop producing chlorine.

Salt Test Strips

Salt Test Strips are used to accurately measure the salt level in your pool. The Crystal Pure Salt System does measure and give salt readout levels on the power supply however it is nice to have salt test strips upon startup of your Salt System. During startup up you will use your test strips to make sure that you add the correct amount of salt to your pool, it is also good to be able to compare the salt readings on the power supply to those of the salt test strips to make sure the system is giving accurate salt readings.

Straight Pipe Place Holder - Dummy Cell

This straight pipe holder also called a dummy cell is used for several scenarios which we have listed below.

Winter: It is suggested that in areas of the country that you close your pool for the winter that you replace your normal cell with this dummy cell, the reason being is that the standard cell is expensive and by removing the standard cell you will prolong the cell's life.

Cell Cleaning: When you remove your normal cell for cleaning it is nice to have the dummy cell as you can replace the normal cell with the dummy cell so you continue to filter your pool while you clean your cell.

Spring Start-Up: The dummy cell is great to use during spring start up as quite often the pool can be quite dirty and you don't want large dirt and debris to get lodged in your standard salt cell.

My chlorinator stopped working. I purchased a new circuit board but it is still not working. I'm looking for a TCELL15 with the power center. Is this what I need. does it wire up on 220 volts?
 Reply

A  Answered on 12/2/2014 by InyoPools Product Specialist Alex V.

Ronnie, This is a complete salt system (cell and power center). It can be wired for either 230v or 115v. The TCELL15/GLXCELL15 is a replacement cell for the Hayward Aquarite. So if you have a Hayward Aquarite and it is time to replace your salt cell then you would go with the TCELL15/GLXCELL15. If you are looking at replacing your entire salt system then the Crystal Pure would be one of several Salt Systems you could go with. You can view the Hayward Salt System here.

Is this compatible with a concrete pool / spa combo? I have an existing pool and am replacing all pumps / filter / heater. Anything else required to convert to a saltwater system?

A  Answered on 3/30/2015 by InyoPools Product Specialist Robert M.

This system is compatible with concrete, fiberglass & vinyl lined pools. Additional equipment is not required for the salt system.

Will this work with my existing cartridge type filter ? How often does the salt cell need to be replaced ?
 Reply

A  Answered on 4/6/2015 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Paul, this system can work with your existing filtration system as long as none of your equipment is made of   stainless steel. Typically 3-5 years you'll need to replace a cell on a salt system.

How does this system compare with the Hayward system?
 Reply

A  Answered on 4/8/2015 by InyoPools Product Specialist Hector F.

This system is more of a generic model while Hayward is one of the main manufacturers in the industry.

Converted to saltwater

Written on 5/25/2023 by Guest

Converted my 24k gallon pool from regular chlorine to saltwater using the purline salt system kit. The kit arrived quicky and the directions were very easy to understand. I did a complete remodel of my pools plumbing so the install went very easy. Once running the generator worked perfectly. Make sure water is balanced and stabilizer is at the right level and you’re good to go. Would definitely buy again.

Works great- installation medium to difficult

Written on 6/23/2019 by Guest

Hired electrician to run electrical dedicated line 50amp.

Put new schedule 40 PVC 2" with sweep elbows from filter to water in on heater. Tied in a inline zinc sacrificial metal in the same line.

Water out plumbing to a check valve 2" diameter then to a salt water generator then to a flow sensor. 16" before flow sensor, SWG acts as a 16" straight flow then 4" after flow sensor into a sweep elbow to the return lines to pool.

Turned on pump check pressure , check for leaks. Looks good, turned on breaker to heater, came on, set to pool mode and set temperature. Outside temp was 65 degrees at night, raised temperature 5 degrees in 8 hours. Will be quicker when weather warms up

Make sure heater, pump, zinc anode and salt water generator is bonded.

Not getting chlorine production

Written on 6/19/2019 by Guest

Replaced my Hayward AquaRite with this system. Was very simple as the setup is exactly the same as the Hayward. It was a matter of simply connecting the wires to the same connections that the Hayward had. The cell size was the same as my T-15 so that was a simple swap as well. I completed this installation in about 25 minutes.

My Hayward/Goldline control unit burnt out. Have two local pool dealers in the area and I could not get either one to even look at the old unit.

Written on 7/23/2018 by Guest

Replacement was simple. Shut off power to old unit. Disconnected two wires and the ground wire. Hung the Crystal Pure unit and reattached the power and ground. Turned power back on and was immediately generating chlorine with the salt generator that was in place. Price was great, delivery as promised.

Salt cells were not working on purchased home.

Written on 6/15/2018 by Guest

Had 2 Hayward salt cell systems on ~40,000 gallon pool and replaced them with 1 INYO 40,000 salt cell which seems to be working fine. Easy installation. Same size as Hayward cell so no plumbing required and electrical connection was a breeze. Good instructions for my 240v wiring.

Installed a new salt system

Written on 5/26/2018 by Guest

Salt system came as sold. Packing was perfect and professional. With a few hand tools and a couple of hours time, I was ready for the operation of my new pureline salt system! I would recommend this over the competitors name brand for sure.

Installed a salt water system on my inground pool.

Written on 8/22/2017 by Guest

I converted my inground pool to a salt water system and it was the best investment I have made. After years of paying hundreds of dollars each season I finally said enough is enough and decided to convert the system. I seen this 40,000 gallon system on this site which was more than enough for my pool at a great price. I am pretty handy so I figured I would give it a shot. With the great instructions I received it took me just a few hours to do. I was hesitant at first since I never did anything like this but it came out great and works excellent. I saved hundreds and see much stress and time. I would recommend anyone thinking about doing this to go for it. The difference between salt and clorean is unbelievable. My family loves it. I say just do it.

New house didn't have a Salt Chlorine Generator

Written on 7/24/2017 by Guest

When I put a SCG on our above ground pool when I installed it, I couldn't believe the ease of operation. After moving recently to a house with a traditional in-ground pool that didn't have one, I knew we would need to change that. Before we even closed on the house, I identified that I wanted the Pureline SCG by reading every review and question and doing even more research online on other websites. Just Google That Stuff!
First of all, I can't emphasize enough the planning and preparation. We started by determining how much salt we would have to add and I ordered online from a local hardware store when they were having a sale. We needed 24 - 40# bags. We actually added the salt approximately a week before installation--plenty of time to allow it to dissipate. Then we planned the installation and I assemble the tools & materials I would need: PVC Glue, Reciprocating Saw, tape measure, voltage tester, wire nuts, flexible conduit, wire, outlet box.
One evening when I got home from work the Pureline PL7700 was there and I went about getting it plumbed into my return line. I purchased a corrosion resistant check valve from INYOPOOLS.COM to put before the SCG. After measuring one more time, I turned off the pump at the breaker and cut my 2" PVC line and removed the section of pipe I would need to install the check valve, Pureline PL7700, and flow switch (in that order). After cutting it out, I began the process of gluing in the check valve on one side and the flow switch on the other side. I used Christy's Hot Blue Glue and then I measure one more time to cut my nipples for the screw ends for the SCG and added those. I allowed those to dry for a bit before I hand tightened the SCG cell inline. Turned the pump back on and checked for leaks and was done for the night. Total time, about an hour.
The next morning I cut some blocking to add in between the studs to mount the control box at eye-level above the pump. Then I removed the plate on the pump electrical & tested the voltage (240). At this point I decided to swap the single gang box for a double gang. I then wired a hot, neutral and ground coming out of my power supply for the pump and put those wires inside a new flexible conduit and supplied power to the Pureline control box. I secured the new wiring to the appropriate terminals, plugged in the flow switch and the wire to the salt cell & activated it.

Chlorine cost too much.

Written on 6/14/2017 by Guest

Ordered 40,000 gallon salt water system and installed it according to the instructions and now I have Chlorine that don't cost an arm and a leg. I am amazed at this solution to save money and work.
