We highly recommend replacing the shaft seal, o-rings and gaskets when replacing your motor. If you use your old shaft seal, it will not mate up properly with the new motor and may leak.

I recently changed my pool motor and gaskets. I made sure to lubricate all the gaskets with vaseline. A few days later water is leaking from the pump. What did I do wrong? Help please!!

You never want to use vaseline on any rubber gaskets or o-rings. Vaseline is petroleum based and will deteriorate the rubber quickly. Whenever you change the motor on a pool pump it is recommended that you replace the gaskets and shaft seal as well. A >Go-kit contains the shaft seal, packet of non-petroleum based lubricant and gaskets you will need for your pump. If you already have the gaskets, you can purchase >Magic Lube.

My pump is not priming even after cleaning impeller. Will purchasing this kit aid in fixing that problem?

The seal kit can help with loss of prime. I can't guarantee that it will solve your problem. The loss of prime could be from an air leak at the valves or plumbing in front of the pump.

Disassembled pump and replaced all seals and o-rings. Pretty straightforward repair. Reassembled pump and installed new motor. Installed new motor/pump assembly along with some new plumbing and started up. All worked well with no leaks.

My family and I recently moved into a house that has an in ground pool that has not been used in over 20 years. All of the pool equipment (pump, filter, etc.) sits out in the open and as a result, most of the identifying marks and labels had faded to the point they were unreadable. Therefore, I contacted a customer service rep at INYOPOOLS and based on my description, the rep was able to determine the correct replacement pump motor and pump tune up kit I needed. The rep then directed me to the videos that would best demonstrate how to perform the repairs I was facing. I received the motor and tune up kit a couple of days later and completed the repairs without a problem.

Pros: Multiple sized strainer pot o-rings ensured the proper fit.
Cons: Having to make a separate order for the correct diffuser ring.
I ordered this kit mainly to replace the diffuser o-ring which was badly worn. It turned out that the diffuser needed the square ring gasket instead and it wasn't included, just a normal o-ring which wasn't the correct one for my Challenger pump. I will have to make a seperate order for that. However I used the other parts just fine and am happy with their performance.
