What is the difference between the clear and the blue solar blanket?

First, the clear solar blanket is thicker than the blue; the clear is 14 mil thick while the blue is 12 mil. Secondly, the clear allows the sun to pass through the blanket thus heating the water better. The blue blanket tends to absorb the heat itself so the blanket gets hot, not the water. Lastly, the clear blanket has a 6 year warranty as opposed to the 5 year warranty for the blue.

Does the solar cover come with an overlap like a winter cover does?

No, the solar cover does not come with an overlap. A solar cover is designed to sit on top of the water's surface and fits on the inside perimeter of the pool wall.

Is the warranty a 6 year full replacement warranty or full for a period say 2 years and then partial after that period. Is there actually a written warranty that one can read before buying?

We have a kidney shape pool. Is this easy to trim to size with shears? Had a blue cover lasted 10 years. Going to a clear.thanks...will order today?

Good afternoon Ted, yes these blankets are easy to trim. Using a pair of clothing shears works best.

We purchased the solar blanket to maintain the pool temperature overnight during the spring and fall season in South Carolina. The clear blanket was slightly larger than our pool and we then market the perimeter with a black Sharpie leaving an excess of about 2-inches which would ride up the pool wall and give a good fit.
We then cut out the pool shape using some sharp scissors and rechecked the fit. Once everything fitted correctly we painted a large red dot on the one end so that removing and installing it would be easy by just lining up the red dot with the top weir.
We did have problems with the 1st blanket with some delamination at the seams, but thanks to INYO Pools responsiveness we received the replacement (under warranty) within a week and had it installed a day later. All is good now

No brainer here. Older blue cover from another company had disintegrated after two years in the Florida sun. Ordered the clear because we like our pool water warm. My wife loves the clear look much better than the previous blue. We have a 14' X 28' pool so the fit is perfect.

LOVE this solar pool cover! It works so much better than the blue ones we've had in the past. It's thicker and a much better quality, and it really heats the water up perfectly. Very fast shipping, too! Highly recommend.

We had some delamination issues with the first blanket, but it was replaced under warranty. The replacement is working fine.

Blanket was received in a Timely Manner, works well and Lays flat on the pool not like some that are bunched up were joined together. Its heaver then most, looks like it will last. Very Happy

Very glad I bought the solar blanket. It does extend swimming season by heating the pool water. It also reduces evaporation.
