I have a 12,500 gallon above ground pool. Which kit shouldI use? Any special suggestions if I have a vinyl liner?

This kit will be fine for your 12,500-gallon pool - especially if you plan on lowering the level a bit before shutting it down for the winter, and it is specifically made for above-ground pools and vinyl liners.    This video on How To Winterize An Above Ground Pool will help guide you to close your pool successfully for the winter.

I have a 36K gal pool— would I have to order 3 - 12 gallon closing kits or do you have some for a larger pool with a cheaper price

If you want chlorine-free shock, you'd have to order 3 of these kits. If you are ok with chlorine, you can go with one 30k NY916 kit and one 10k NY912 kit.

We recently purchased a home in Port Charlotte, FL with a salt water pool. We are leaving for at least a month. I would like to shut the pump down while we are away. Would it be okay to use either the chlorine or chlorine-free shock kit to treat the water while we're away? Also, would it be okay to leave your 16 mil solar blanket on the pool? I am ordering one today. The pool is only 4700 gallons. Thanks

Hi, Glenn. This product will not work. You leave the pool running so that it will not turn green. You can also supplement your pool with chlorine tablets in a floater.

Do you have to have your pump run during winter to use this kit, or is it a put in the chemicals, cover and leave it until spring?

These kits are typically used when swimming pools are completely shut down for the winter.

I have an 18,000 gallon, above ground, salt water pool... which winterizing kit would you recommend? Thank you!

Hi, John. I would recommend the 30,000 Gal. Winterizing Kit w/ Chlor-Free Shock, using the correct dosage for your size pool.

Is there an advantage in using chlorine free shock over regular shock in winterizing or anytime for that matter?
 Reply

A  Answered on 8/24/2016 by InyoPools Product Specialist Stacey M.

Hello, there are some that just prefer chlorine free to chlorine based shock. If you are winterizing you would want a chlorine based shock to take care of your pool while it is shut down. These are for Bromine type pools.
