HURRICANE "PREMIUM QUALITY" LOW PROFILE SOLAR REEL
Non-corroding aluminum reel fits under most diving boards.
Engineered for smaller hotel and motel pools, this reel is designed for heavy use. Its powder-coated heavy gauge aluminum frame is super strong, lightweight, and will never rust or corrode. The large stainless steel crank with handle at one end makes turning the reel easy. Precision sealed bearings allow a single person to effortlessly glide the solar blanket off your pool.
Our premium reel is built with a heavy-duty 3" tube that will not sag or flex. It will support solar blankets up to 24-ft. wide by 50-ft. long (please note: this references the maximum blanket size the heavy duty tube can hold, not the size blanket that fits this reel. This reel is for pools up to 20' wide). Standing only 12" high, this low profile reel can fit under most diving boards for easy storage when not in use. Includes all straps and necessary hardware. Base and frame are aluminum. Optional locking casters can be added for easy portability.
Tube Diameter: 3"
*Recommend using a 4” Solar Blanket Storage System for pools 600 sq. ft. and larger when used with thicker mil solar blankets.

I have a 20 x 45 in ground pool. I have a couple of questions.
1. is it just the reel rod that is 20' or does the 20' include the legs.
2 do the casters come with it?
Hi Danuta, This reel comes with approximately 25' of tubing that is telescopic so it would be more than sufficent for a pool 20' wide. The caster are not included and you would require these optional casters 99-55-4395018. For a 20' x 45' pool we do suggest a 4" tube to prevent tube sag and this solar reel is only a 3" tube. Our suggestion is this 20' Hurricane Solar Reel with 4" Tube
I have a 20'x40' pool, and see I should get the 4" tube in lieu of the 3". Can you provide me with the product link to the 4" or let me know what the increased cost would be?
Matt, I would suggest the 20' Storm Commercial InGround Solar Cover Reel With 4" Tube - 55-2004ST.
what casters fit this product
Hi, Paul. This specific reel system does not have casters or have the means to use casters. You will have to purchase a reel system that has casters or modify it to use casters.
Looking at the video, It does not appear the reel will fit under a diving board. Also,is the NS974 the only option for a 16 Mil Cover?
Hello Joe- This reel is 12" high without the casters which will fit under most diving boards. And yes, this will be the best option for a 16 mil cover.
pool is 20 by 40 I need the tube to be at least 4 inchers wide and want the hurricane brand suggestions
Hi, Only the 24' Hurricane Reel comes with 4" tubes. You can purchase the 24' system and alter it to fit your size pool.
Would this reel work with my 20 x 45 cover? How tall is the unit with the cover on it?
If my pool is max 20" wide, do I need a reel 20" or does it have to be larger?
I was looking to purchase NS974 reel
Hi Donald, The 20' Hurricane I/G Aluminum Solar Reel would be ok to use with your size pool.
What Color are the sides and tube?
This solar reel come's with white sides and aluminum tubes. So the sides will be aluminum with a white powder coat, and the tubes will come in a silver aluminum color.

Screwdriver, Socket Set, Wrench Set, drill
This went together in about an hour. you will beed a drill to drill pilot holes into the aluminum to connect the beam together mine was about 20 feet wide.
Straps connected the end of the blanket and wind it right up! I was really easy to assemble for the mechanically savvy. Just follow the directions that come with it and you'll be fine.
Screw gun and a drill makes it go faster!
(4 out of 5 stars) Great Solar reel

Pros: Easy to assemble and use
Cons: Will not fit under my diving board when the the blanket is rolled on it.
Excellent reel for the price and ease of rolling up the blanket for storage or just for the time the pool is open.

I now own three of these reels they are great looking very functional sturdy but light weight I bolted mine to the pool deck so I don't have to worry about alignment with the pool and don't have to hold them down while reeling in the cover

Pros: Easy to use -
Cons: A little difficult to build.
does the trick in winding up the solar pool cover and keeping it neat and easy to use a second time. A little difficult to put together, and highly recommend fastening to ground if you can - although it works well not fastened.
