I have a older spa plump #1520, which is starting to leak and want to get new rings a seals. Hayward has 3 choices of seal, don't know which is correct?
Hi Gary, The Hayward Shaft Seal OEM (SP1500KA) would be the correct seal.
What is the part number for a shaft seal on the Proline SD-10-1n11CB with an AO Smith Cat BN25 Part 0-177894-24 Frame P 48 Y motor?
1 to 2 hrs
Screwdriver, Socket Set, Strap wrench
This was my first attempt at replacing the pump shaft seal on my Hayward power-flo LX. I used the step by step instructions on INYOPOOLS.com and I got to the point where I could not free up the impeller. I sent in a question to their website and they suggested a strap wrench which worked. Plus when I ordered the seals they arrived in a couple of days. Your site could not make pool repairs any easier, thanks you for this informative site. Will use again.
(5 out of 5 stars) Easy fix for a dripping spa pump
Reviewed By: Subvet from North Little Rock, AR ()
Pros: Easy install and works great
Cons: It should come with a dab of seal lube
I really like that this seal comes with a new plastic cup to hold the seal in the pump cavity, it certainly makes it easier to install, and you don't have to worry about cleaning up the old cup. The seal fits perfectly and after an hour of time, no more drips from the pump.
