I've attached photo of my current Hayward pump. The model numbers are different. Is this the same pump?

Hi Ron, Thanks for the photo! Yes this is the same pump.

Would this work as a replacement pump to use on an intex sf60110-1 sand filter? (I think I’ve read that you’d have to create some adapters to make the pipes fit… but outside of that, would it work?). Sand filter max 30 psi, 30 gpm, takes about 100 pounds of sand. Typically runs at 10 psi which is like 23 feet of head, seems like that puts this around 2000 gph.

Hi John, The main issue will be that the GPM of the pump will be much greater than the max GPM of your filter (30 GPM). So if you wanted to upgrade you would need to upgrade both your pump and filter to something like this Hayward Filter System.

I currently have a 1/2 hp motor for my pool. I have a DE filter with 20 sq. ft coverage. Max flow of 50 gpm. Would a 1 hp motor be too big?

A  Answered on 11/3/2020 by InyoPools Product Specialist Hector F.

Hi Rollie, so there are a few variables to consider when sizing a pool pump. Here are two guides that we created for sizing an aboveground pool pump and sizing an inground pool pump that should assist.

Due to freezing weather, the connection from the pre-filter and pump cracked. This is the part that is threaded on one side and 8 screws on the the outside. I only need to replace that part but cannot find where to buy it. The pump and filter are fine, just the round connector has a hairline crack. Maybe we could try aquarium glue on it but first I wanted to see what it would cost just for that part.

Hi, Sandie. Unfortunately, I was unable to locate a replacement part in our database.

I have a 1/2 HP Power-Flo 11 and would like a back up pump like. I seems to be easy on electricity, runs 115 volt, 110 outlet. Is there anything that would be better on electricity? And, why are these pumps more costly than 1 and 1 1/2 HP pumps?

A  Answered on 7/23/2016 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi, There is not another pump that would be better on electricity than the 1/2 hp model, it is higher priced because of the supply and demand for larger size pumps.

Why is the Power-Flo II with a 1/2 HP motor $70 more expensive than the Power-Flo LX with a larger 1HP motor?

A  Answered on 6/19/2016 by InyoPools Product Specialist Alex V.

Paul, That's because the Power Flo is for above ground pools only. The Power Flo II can be used on smaller in ground pools.

I need a pump for a large water fountain. The pump will set 3-6 feet above the water level of the fountain. Will this pump self prime and have sufficient suction head? Also, I am targeting 20-30 gpm flow rate, any concerns? And lastly I would like to put a filtration system downstream of the pump. What are my options for this size system. The volume of the fountain is 1120 gallons. Thanks

A  Answered on 10/28/2015 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi James, The Power Flo II can only be installed up to 4 feet above the water level or will have issues priming. If installed and have less than 30 feet of head or resistance will provide the flow rate you're targeting. If the pump will be installed higher than 4 feet above water level you will need to go with a Waterfall pump, either the Hayward TriStar 75GPM Waterfall Pump or Pentair AFP-75 Waterfall Pump will be sufficient enough to be installed more than 4 ft above water level.
