I had the bulb in my pool light replaced 3 months ago. There is water showing inside the glass case about 3 inches from the bottom. Is this normal? Or is the gasket bad?

A  Answered on 10/8/2015 by InyoPools Product Specialist Hector F.

This can happen and can be from the gasket going bad, not secured correctly, or the clamp not tightened correctly.

I need to replace an American Product, Model CN-5 that uses an R 500 B light. Is the Amerlite 500 15' cord 120 the replacement unit that I need? My CN-5 has a length of 7.25" with a diameter of about 9".

Hi Patrick, The Pentair Amerlite will replace the American Product CN -5 fixture if you have also have the American Products large niche.

Is there a 12V version of this light that puts out as much light as this 500W 120V version? I want to convert from 120V to 12V to light a 20x40 inground vinyl lined pool and only have (1) niche.

A  Answered on 5/19/2017 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi, Leroy. There is not a 12 volt option to this Amerlite 500 watt fixture. The Amerlite 300 Watt 15' Cord 12V - 78431100 is the brightest 12 volt option.

Light assembly is showing rust where the bulb screws in. Is it possible to replace that part only.

A  Answered on 7/26/2017 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi, Art. The light housing is not sold as a replacement part, you'll have to replace the entire fixture.

Can I converting my PAC Fab model 60-xx5x with this unit and do I need to convert my niche also.

A  Answered on 10/21/2020 by InyoPools Product Specialist Hector F.

Hi Eric, yes you can replace your model pool light 60-xx5x Pc Fab Hatteras with this Pentair Amerlite light fixture and would not need to change the niche so long as it is a Pac Fab niche as well.

My old light was leaking and throwing the breaker

Written on 7/20/2020 by Guest

My old light was not installed correctly. There was not a lead to pull the light above water to replace the bulb. When my bulb burnt out, I had to unwired the light. When it was reinstalled water got into the wiring and caused it to fail.

Simple fix was to purchase a new light. I did not want to mess around with electricity and a pool. Inyo pools had the best price and delivered as expected. I got the exact Pentair replacement and was able to put it in immediately. I also found some great tips on installation, like having excess cord coiled up on the light recess so you can easily and safely replace the light. Problem solved. Thanks Inyo!
