Can this pump take water from a river and pump it up a hillside that is 100 feet higher (roughly 200 foot distance)before the waterfall?

Hello Kevin- No, the AFP-120 Waterfall Pump 340351 is designed for low head applications, meaning it wouldn't have the suction to raise water that height and distance. In fact, no normal in-ground pool pump will be able to handle that big of a run. You would need a commercial/special application pump.
