MAX-E-PRO PUMPS By Sta-Rite
SUPERIOR HYDRAULIC DESIGN MOVES MORE WATER, RESULTING IN LOWER ELECTRICAL COSTS
This new high efficiency, low maintenance pump is designed for maximum performance for the modern pool. Advanced state-of-the-art hydraulics means that Max-E-Pro delivers more water resulting in lower electrical costs. It will keep your pool crystal clear as well as run your automatic cleaner and any other hydraulic accessories around your pool. Not only is this pump energy efficient, it is ultra quiet. Special dampening in and around the pump’s base makes Max-E-Pro one of the quietest pumps in its class.
The extra large 6” trap collects more debris, allowing you to clean the trap less often. Our clear see-thru lid allows you to check for debris without removing the lid. The new Quick-Lock trap cover ring makes loosening or tightening the trap a cinch. Max-E-Pro is self-priming and produces enough suction to lift water 5-feet above pool level. Large 2” ports include external and internal threads to adapt to a variety of pipe sizes.
The Max-E-Pro is built to last, constructed of Sta-Rite’s glass reinforced resin that is corrosion-proof and can withstand many years of U.V. sunlight. This season, invest in the energy efficient, low-maintenance pump that really moves the water – Max-E-Pro by Sta-Rite. 110/230V UL Listed and NSF. Backed by a 1-Year Warranty.

I would like to add a timer to this pump. Can you please recommend one that would be easy to hook up.

Hi Dave, depending on what voltage you will have running to your pool pump here are some Intermatic timer options that we would recommend to consider for your application.

I have a 28000 gallon pool and I am considering the sta-rite 1 hp full rate energy efficient pump. Will this be adequate for my needs, and how much energy does it use each hour?
Reply
Hi, David. This pump can be used to meet your pool needs based on your pool's Total Dynamic Head (TDH) and filter size. This pump uses 1.7KWh.

Does the power usage suggest that the pump runs at 1700 Watts per hour. That seems high for a high efficiency motor so I wanted to confirm. Thanks

This pump draws 8 amps at 230V operation the equation used to determine kWh is Multiply volts x amps to get watts then divide by 1000 to get kWh. (230 x 8) / 1000 = 1.82 kWh which is a little higher than originally stated. Here is a link to price per kWh for electricity in all 50 states to determine how much the pump would cost you to run. We put together an In Depth Article on How Much a Pool Pump Cost to Operate which goes into great detail on the topic. The conclusion from the article is that if you want to save on your operational costs then you should go with a Variable Speed Pool Pump as they will save you 50% - 75% to run. In California State law mandates Variable Speed Pumps and in July 2021 federal law requires all new pumps be VSP.

I have a STA-RITE MAX-E-GLAS II pump P4E6E-187L with motor K48L2PA105 1 HP. See pics. What is a good replacement for this and what additional parts do I need to purchase, if any? Thanks!
Hi, GP. This Max-E-Pro 1 HP Full Rate Energy Efficient Pump - P6E6E--206L is a good replacement if you want to replace the entire pump. If you want to rebuild your existing pump, you will need the QC1102 motor and the Max-E-Glas II Tune Up Kit - GOKIT38.
Reply
You have to make a decision to rebuild or replace. If replacing think about Variable speed P6E6VS4H209L lots of rebates out there from mfg and utility companies. If you rebuild you will need a QC1102 and GOKIT38 this is not California compliant ECM16SQU. Another option dual speed SQS1102R.

Hi Taylor, Yes the PL2602 PureLine Prime 1.5 HP would be a great replacement for a Sta-Rite p6e6e-206l. Please note that the plumbing ports are not in the exact same location so you will have a little replumbing but nothing major. Click the following link to view the PL2602 PureLine Prime 1.5 HP

I have an older Sta-Rite P2RA5E 181L 1HP pump. It has worked wonderfully well for may years with minimal maintenance. The pump keeps the pool sparkling clean and free of debris My pool is an 35'000 gal inground pool with a total 25 ft of head (skimmer 20' + drain 30')/2 = 25'). The current pump is getting old and needs to be replaced. What would be my best option for this pool. I have looked at the Sta-Rite P6E6E206L. but want to make sure. I have a StaRite P6E6E-206L (Max-E Pro?) pump, w/ a K48L2pA105 (A.O. Smith?) 1-HP motor. 1.65-SFHP, 3,450-RPM, 115/230-V. Someone replaced this motor about 6 years back, and now I need a replacement. Wondering if they used the rite motor? When I look up the motor mdl. # on the website, I get QC1102 as a replacement. If I look up the pump mdl. #, it looks to show something different. I just need a new motor & a Go-Kit. Ugh! My head is spinning! What would you suggest? Thanks

i have a 36000 gal Inground pool the pump I have now is 1 hp 230 v is this a good pick

Hi Scott, yes the max-e-pro is a great pump and if what you have already is a 1HP and it had been doing the job then I wouldn't switch unless you plan on adding extra water features in the future that will require an increased flow rate.

Is this a good combination for a 24,000 gal pool with equipment located about 40 feet from pool skimmer return:
1. Max-Pro-E (1 horse pump) (Model#P6E6E-206L)
2. System 3 Cartridge filter (what size?/is there a valve needed between pump for waste, etc?)
3. Max-E-Therm LP Heater (what size?)
4. Intellichlor/with pwr supply (what size?)
Reply
Hi Bob, I would recommend the Max-E-Pro P6EA6E205L, System 3 Mod Media Cartridge Filter - S7M400 does not require a valve, Max-E-Therm - SR333LP or SR400LP and the Intellichlor IC40.

My pool is 22,000 gal, 75 FoW, 1 1/2 in pipe. I replaced an old 1 hp. Sta-Rite pump (looked like the Max-E-Pro style), with a 1 hp. Pentair Superflo. Doesn't pull hard enough to clean pool and died after 3 yrs. Would like to go back to the Sta-Rite but the Max-E-Pro owners manual says not to attach anything smaller than 2 in. to the 2 in. suction inlet. Am I stuck with buying a pump with 1 1/2 in. fittings?
Reply
Hi Dave, You can use a reducer but it would be better to get a pump that can fits your pipe size.

Reply
Because the Sta-rite Max e Glass is no longer made, I am unable to find the overall dimensions of this pump. However, we do have dimension of the Max-E-Pro. Depending on the exact model you buy, the overall length averages about 26" and the overall height is approximately 14.2", with a 2" intake and out take.

(5 out of 5 stars) great pool pump
Reviewed By: DIYTOM from Annapolis, MD ()
Pros: great pump, quiet and powerful, install easily
Cons: none
Had good help from Inyo in selecting the right model pump and they found one close by so shipping was quicker. Pump was better than expected and easy to install. Couldn't believe how quiet and powerful. Replaced the same size but old pump just can't be compared. Even my supply side pool cleaner booster pump operates better with more action and suction. While pump isn't cheap, it was half the cost of having my pool servcing company supply and install a similar one.

The 2nd one arrived, again promptly, on time and undamaged. Install was quick and easy. The new pump runs like a dream. Thank You INYO for your prompt service and great product.

Pros: Big strainer, easy lid, great hook-up fittings.
Cons: None
Purchased to replace a 27 year old pump of the same brand. The larger strainer basket, cam top and fittings are brilliant. Installation require a bit of pipe work as the distances were not quite the same but worth the effort. What a difference in flow. Made good use of the pool before the end of season. Great value, thanks
