I have an old filter SMBW Series 12 years old. The clamp ring assembly has a bolt on it that is too short to make the clamp fit any more. I have extended the life of my O ring by making it fit tighter. However, I can't stretch the band enough to screw on a fastener. I have altered it to keep it barely working. How can I make it work better? I am feeling frustrated! I currently am using a nut.

Hi Larry, You would need the Purex SMBW T-Bolt and that part should fix your issue. We also carry the Complete Purex SMBW Clamp w/ Bolt if you feel as the entire clamp needs to be replaced. You can view the Purex SMBW Parts Drawing here which may be helpful.

Does this band assembly fit a mitra , model number Ma-160 filtration system? if not do you know where i can find one?

Hello Paul- The band assembly for the MA-160 is no longer available and there is not replacement given by the MFG. You would have to contact them directly at 800-831-7133 to see if they have an alternative or replace the entire filter.

I'm sorry this does not fit the Mitra. The Mitra band clamp is no longer being manufactured and there is not a replacement. It may be time for a new filter, something like the Pentair Clean & Clear 100 would be a comparable filter to the Mitra M100.

Will the replacement band assembly (Band Assembly, Complete (174880)) fit the Pentair 4000?

The correct band assembly is listed at key number 3 on this parts diagram for the Pentair/Purex 4000 D.E. filter.
