do I need other parts ? also do I have to remove the sand? I have the bulk head fitting [Just purchased from Haywood].can a schematic be sent to show installation procedures. I am concerned about leaks. any and all advice is welcomed. Thanks

I picked up an old Hayward S244S and I measured the outside threading of the bulkhead fittings at near 3" which implies to me that I have 2-1/2" bulkhead fittings. However, I'm only aware of 1-1/2" and 2" VariFlo control valve assemblies. What size are these? I'd be happy converting to 2" bulkheads.
