I need to replace my the capacitor on my 1.5HP pool pump. Do you carry the capacitor I need?

A  Answered on 1/23/2012 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

Please note that capacitors store an electric charge and should be handled with the utmost caution and care. We do not encourage handling a capacitor without any type of safety measures in place and highly recommend contacting a professional service company for repair/replacement. For those that feel comfortable changing the capacitor here's  >How to replace a pool pump capacitor. In order to match up the capacitor you will need more specifications on the capacitor. You will need to match the voltage, the MFD, whether or not the capacitor is a >run or >start type and the actual dimensions of the capacitor body.

will this capacitor work on 220

A  Answered on 9/3/2015 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi James, If the motor is wired for 220 volts this capacitor will work if it's the correct one needed for that motor.

I need the part number for a start capacitor for Pool Pump Motor UST 1252. I called the technical help line and they told me to buy capacitor BC 124. BC 124 is rated for 125 VAC and Pump UST 1252 is 250 VAC. The start capacitor I am replacing is rated for 36uF and 250 VAC. Please let me know what replacement start capacitor I need to order. Thank you, Ray Smith

Hello Ray, the Capacitor you will need for a UST1252 would be Part # 5270-09 MFD 220-250v 36-43 (bc36m-250-s).

I have the same capacitor that needs to be replaced (165 vac) . However, the capacitor you are recommending has a lower voltage rating (125 v). Am I missing something here?

the capacitor from my pool pump has the following info on it: 610807-001 60hz 124uF 125VAC do you have a capacitor that would work?

A  Answered on 9/13/2016 by InyoPools Product Specialist Scott W.

Yes, that would be the correct capacitor according to the part number you provided.

I wasn't positive it was the start capacitor, even after checking with my ohm meter. Purchased the replacement. It arrived 5 days later. Only shocked myself a couple times even though I grounded it several times. Perhaps it was the run capacitor which I didn't ground. Short story? I installed it and the motor and pump started right back up! Much cheaper than a brand new motor. Thanks!
