I see anywhere from $103 on up for this filter. Why are the prices so different? Are their different makers for the same part number?

You may come across different prices for the same model filter because there are indeed multiple manufacturers of the same filter. Some are aftermarket generic types and then there are the original Sta-Rite versions.

Hello - yes, the cartridge can be cleaned with a hose. Here's a guide on how to do so: How To Clean a Pool Cartridge Filter. The cartridge should be replaced when hosing off or chemically soaking the cartridge no longer lowers the PSI reading on your pressure gauge.

Other competitors wanted over $200 for these cartridges and the cartridge we received was the same quality for less! We are buying a second one now to alternate while cleaning the other filter. Customer called that she was having trouble with high pressure in her filter. Determined that her filter was plugged and worn enough that cleaning would not help. Ordered new filter from INYO, received it in three days , and have customer happy.
