How does this gasket set in the paraport valve body. Where does that filled in part go relative to the holes in the body?

For this spider gasket, the flat side of it needs to be siliconed into the channels of the valve body that is shaped for the gasket. Please be advised that this gasket is obsolete with no replacement.
