Hello,
I have a 1.5 HP variable speed energy saving pool pump and it's not strong enough, can I change the impeller to your 3 HP (310-1060)

We would not recommend that. You can improve the power of an existing pump with a new motor and a new impeller, as the horsepower of the motor should match the maximum rated horsepower for the impeller. You would risk burning the motor out prematurely with a 3HP impeller on a 1.5HP motor. We do, but you would need to be sure to order the correct motor and impeller for your current pump, and not all pumps were designed to handle a 3HP motor & impeller. For energy efficiency and almost infinite options, I might recommend replacing your current pump with something like this Power Defender 270 Variable Speed Pool Pump 2.7 HP 230V. You can have the power and flow when you want it, but you can also dial it down for energy savings.
