The sand in your pool is very commonly caused by a broken lateral or a cracked manifold. You will need to identify the manufacturer and make/model number of your sand filter to correctly locate replacement parts on our website. You can always send in pictures via email to upload@inyopools.com if you need help identifying your filter or call us at 1-877-372-6038.

That is a possibility. Another may be that, since the bugs should be caught in the sand, that the water has formed channels through the sand bed and no filtering is taking place. Depending on the age of the sand, it either needs to be gently stirred up or replaced entirely.
