I found a crack in the drain plug and need to replace the strainer pot. Will this fit my Challenger CH11-N1-1-1/2A pump and housing? If you are unsure of my numbers please zoom in on image, they are legible. Motor is only 2yo, so no need to replace entire pump.
Hi Dave, yes this is the correct strainer pot for the Pentair/Pac Fab Challenger series pool pumps up to 5 horsepower models.

My pump was sucking in air in the old Strainer Pot. Replaced it with this one. It was not the lid or the lid gasket, which were both new. This already comes with the gasket for the lower plug, which I found out from another review.

Pros: strainer pot assembly in pool pump lasted almost 20 years

Started seeing air bubbles in pump strainer pot and from return line in pool. Found a hairline crack around threads in strainer pot assembly. Ordered a replacement strainer pot housing from INYOpools.com. Price was lower than I had seen elsewhere and delivery was quick. Easy installation and no more air bubbles.

I cracked the housing on my skimmer pot. Tried to seal the cracks, but couldn't get the pump to prime. Started searching online for the part. Inyo was the first place that popped up. They were also cheaper than anyone else that had the part. A good deal cheaper. I highly reccomend Inyo Pools and will call upon them again when I need a part in a hurry.

The downside of the Pentair Challenger product is that generic universally-compatible substitutions are not available. The pot strainer in question works fine. The other downside with Pentair is that parts do not seem to be widely stocked -- which is an issue when quick replacement is required. Special kudos to INYO Pools for having the needed item on hand and for quick fulfilment.
