I have a cracked lid on my CCP520 Pentair filter. I found a replacement lid. I have two questions. The filter housing is from 2008 (12 years old) - would the rest of the housing last another 12 years or would I be better off spending the extra $1000 to get the whole housing? Second Question My pool was converted to saltwater shortly after I installed it. The sticker on the filter says its for fresh water. Is there a better filter system for saltwater pools?
Hi Scott my suggestion would be to just replace the lid as the lower tank should last a long time. When the filter says for Fresh Water use, it is referring to not use this with ocean/seawater which is at a concentration of 30,000 - 50,000 PPM of salt where a salt pool is at a level of 3,000 PPM so this filter is fine for a salt pool.
