Hi, I have an older model Clearwater standard sand filter, which uses a different style pump to filter hose(#550-1822). The end that connects to the filter is just a hose on an elbow with a clamp. Is there any way to adapt this newer style hose to my current filter ? Thanks Denis Moss

Hi, Denis. You'll need the Butress x MPT Adapter - 417-4161 in order to use this hose with your filter valve

What's the trick to tighten this so that it doesn't leak, but at the same time to not break the inside ring???

Hi, Beth. There is no trick, the union nuts are hand tightened. If the o-ring is bad, it can cause it to leak.

I just bought an entire new PVC flex hose assy yesterday and the inner ring broke while trying to tighten it. Just thought maybe there was a special trick to keep that from happening. Thanks for your response.
