White plastic weir for the Kafko / Equator skimmer. This is the OEM replacement weir only
Please note, this does not include the rod. If you need both the weir and rod, the new style Weir Conversion Kit is the replacement.
Is this Weir spring loaded? How is it different than the Weir, Universal Spring Loaded 8-3/8" - 25141-440-000? Not sure which one to go with. I no longer have the weir, missing when I bought the house, but one tap is broken off. Pool built in the 80's equator Kafko skimmer.
Hi, Chris. This Weir, Skimmer - 19-0101-0 os not spring loaded, it required the Weir Pins or Rod. I recommend the Weir, Universal Spring Loaded 8-3/8" - 25141-440-000, it's a lot easier to install.
Thank you for your response. Do the tabs need to be removed somehow to install this universal weir or does it just fit as is? One tab is broken off, which is why we are going with the spring loaded weir.
I am currently using one of these OEM weir doors. Part 19-0101-0. The PVC has worn down where it rubs the 2 clips, and now will not stay in place. I'm confused as to what is the best replacement. Should I purchase another of these, or purchase the conversion kit? If I purchase the conversion kit, what will I need to do when I receive it? I'm just very confused about the options available, even after reading all your previous answered questions. Thanks!
Hi Marc, I know this skimmer is quite confusing. My favorite option is this Universal Weir Door and this will work for your skimmer. You will need to remove the pvc tabs on the skimmer to use the universal weir door, but it is the best option.
I have this door with tabs on the base of the skimmer that hold it in place. The tabs are worn and will not hold the door in place. Which item do I need to repair this ?
I bought your skimmer but a rod didn't come with it so it's of no use to me ... how do I get the rod and what is the cost?
can you tell me what the cylinder diameter is? You describe this part as being for a Kafko / Equator skimmer. However, it looks like the on weir door that is similar to my 15-20 year old Hayward skimmer.
Part 2 - What is the difference between the 3 Kafko Equator weir doors you carry? There seems to be a lot of questions around this topic. (Continues Below)
Continuation of post below - The 4070-06 is the original weir by itself. The 4202-10 is a universal weir which is spring loaded. You put the weir in place and pull the tabs and the spring loaded rods pop out to hold the weir in place, this one is my choice. Either way, 4070-09 or 4202-10 will work, and the small rectangular pieces will need to be removed from the skimmer first.

The history of the Kafko Equator Skimmer. The 4070-09 is the complete weir replacement kit, It’s called a conversion kit, but it’s a complete replacement. There have been 2 versions of this kit the original version which is no longer available included a weir, a weir rod, and 2 rectangular pieces of plastic with a small round hole in each. The rectangular pieces of plastic were glued to the sides of the skimmer mouth with rubber cement, the weir rod was then inserted into each round hole to keep it in place and the rod was inserted through the hole in the weir to keep it in place. The current version of the conversion kit part # 4070-09 uses the same weir but in this version (2010 and later) the rectangular plastic pieces each have a short circular male extension, the extensions are the same diameter as the original weir rod, which is no longer used.
(3 out of 5 stars) A little pricey

Cons: The price
Having a certain type of skimmer seems to ham string folks. Had to buy this product in particular and I think the price is too high for a piece of plastic with some foam in it. Supply and demand at it's best I suppose. However, it fits and my old ones had worn out.
(5 out of 5 stars) Worked GREAT!

My old one kept falling off if it got wavy in the pool. Put this one in and it's rock solid. Also seems to really help with water flow into the skimmer. Couldn't be happier. Now, I'm going to buy another one for the other side of the pool.
