My display unit will erratically go into "service" mode on its own. And then I cannot always get it back to automatic mode by pressing the service button twice. Can you tell me if I might need a new display unit or could it be something else? It is really frustrating. I am ready to order a new PS 8 display butam afraid I might need something more? My pool is not salt water and no chloranation system,just a filter, pump, and heater

I would suggest, unless you already have, to call the experts at Hayward and get their professional word. We are simply an on-line retailer of 1000's of products, so I know a little about many things, but the Hayward techs know just theirs. The number for them is 908-355-7995.

wall mount model on AQL-WW-RF-PS-8 reads communication err 2 what must be replaced wall mount keypad or motherboard

According to the owner's manual, Communication Err 2 is "the display/keypad is not receiving any communication from the Pro Logic/ Aqua Logic main control unit. The most likely cause of this problem is a broken wire or "open circuit" in wires "2" and/or "3" in the cable between the display/keypad and the Pro Logic/Aqua Logic main control unit."  For additional assistance, you can contact Hayward at 866-772-2100 or refer to the AquaLogic owners manual.

Hi, Don. This Display - GLX-LOCAL-PS-8 will fit the control panel that is compatible with p/n GLX-LOCAL-PS-8.

Unplugged the old unit. Replaced the prongs holding the display to the PCB. Plugged the new unit and viola it worked.
