Does this item come with instructions? I'm wondering how to fit those laterals thru the top of the filter.

Hi, Dan. Instructions are not included. You can use our How To Replace a Lateral in a Pool Sand Filter guide to get an idea. The laterals will have to connected to the hub after the sand pipe is in the filter.

Can you tell me what the actual length of just the laterals are?

Yes, these laterals are approximately 4 3/8 inches long including the portion that goes into the manifold hub.

They are 4 inches according to where I bought the pool from I need the following parts from you.. 647 305 571 but that one is no longer available 647 305 173 647 304 017 If that helps

The Lateral, Waterway (505-1930) measures 4-3/8" for the Pre 2003 Carefree filters. The Center Pipe and Hub for 22" Filter 647305571 is discontinued and no longer available for order. The Laterals & Manifold Carefree 22" - 505-2160 is the suggested replacement. The Smartclean Snap In Lateral (519-5370) is the part number to the laterals to the 505-2160 assembly, they are 8" long.
