I have a Century Flex 48 - 4.5 hp two-speed pump with side discharge wet end - 2 1/2" intake - will this Waterway 4.5 hp pump be a retrofit replacement?

Yes, as long as the intake of 2.5" and discharge of 2.0" are correct for yours. The 3421821-13 is discontinued. The Executive 48 Spa Pump - 4.5 HP 2-Speed - 34218211A would need to be ordered with the Faceplate, Executive, 2 1/2" (311-1210) to be replaced. Always keep the original faceplate from the pump, if there is a need for the warranty you will need to have the original face plate on the pump. Also, please verify the voltage is for 230V on your motor label as I am unable to see it.
