Should there be a seal/o-ring between the metal housing of the motor mount and the pump backplate...or does the motor just bolt up directly to the backplate with no further sealing? TIA

The motor mounts to the back plate of the pump and does not have a gasket here. There is a pump seal between the impeller and the motor mounting plate. You will need to identify the make and model of you pump in order to correctly match the right shaft seal.

I have a Jandy Flo Pro Model # FHPM2.0 Serial # A09JL0549 which seal kit would I need to replace it looks like this one but wanted to make sure.
