Part no. on housing is JS48992AP. Don't know if one identified as # 12 on schematic will fit. Servicemen from Shasta Pool would not replace because it may not fit properly and will leak. Next step might be to replace entire pump.
Housing has hairline crack. Thought about gluing a plate onto the inside of housing. Too much pressure to glue on the outside. Any recommendations?

Hi Bob, My suggestion would be a new pump, like you said the glue will only be a temporary fix. The Ultra Flo is quite old and once you start getting into replacing some of the more expensive parts then it may be worth getting a brand new pump. The Ultra Flo is no longer being produced but I really like the PureLine Prime Pumps and they would be a good replacement for you, the plumbing ports are not in the exact same spots as the Ultra Flo so you will have some minor re-plumbing.

I have ordered this item to arrive in a few days. My question is: Can I use regular PVC glue to attached the PVC piping or do I need to use another glue?

Yes, you can use standard PVC glue and threaded fitting glue. Maybe consider a version that can dry even when wet.

Hello, I have an older ultra flow that needs volute 390057 1 1/2" or 390070 2" is this the same? There are no part # on mine so how do I know 1/12 or 2" ?? Is that the pvc pipe diameter? Thank you, Tom

Hi Joe, this is a correct volute for the American Products/Pentair Ultra Flo pool pump. The 2-inch dimension is the diameter of the discharge port which is relevant to the PVC diameter being connected to it. The 1.5-inch models are no longer available but you can use reducer fittings at the ports to reduce to 1.5 inch if you need to. Those fittings can be purchased at any local hardware store.
