Does this filter include the pump motor?

Hi Robert, This unit does not include a pump, you will have to purchase the pump separately.

Does this cartridge come with a filter to start, or do I need to order a cartridge at the same time?

I currently have a Sta-rite S8-500M its a beast to clean the cartridges. The replacement media costs are more then just replacing the filter. My pool is a 19,000 gal using a Hayward super pump 1.5hp Would this be a cost effective replacement thats cheaper and easier to clean/replace media? I dont mind washing a filter out, when its not a allday process and it clogs back up after 4 weeks with no pool usage.

The Jacuzzi Sherlock SHER200 Cartridge Filter - 94223850 is a more economical choice of filters. It offers 200sqft. of effective filtration, it is able to filter 36,000 - 96,000 gallons in 8-hours.
