We have a pebble finish pool by Wet Edge, and the original cleaner was a Sand Shark by Pentair. The Sand Shark always got stuck on the main drain covers that stick up about an inch. Will this cleaner get stuck up against the drain covers too, or will it climb over because it has tread/tracks for drive power?

A  Answered on 2/23/2022 by InyoPools Product Specialist Rich N.

Hi Michael, the Zodiac MX6 should be significantly better at not getting caught on the drain covers than your Sand Shark was due to the tractor-like treads.

when you adjust the flow, to get the mx6 be set at 10 rotations in 20-25 seconds, do you do it at low speed or high speed on a 2 speed pump. I have it set now at the recommended settings on the high speed, but it does not move at all when pump is at low speed. Any suggestions?

A  Answered on 5/21/2018 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi, Brad. You will set it at whichever speed will be able to provide adequate water flow. The low speed setting is not sufficient to operate the cleaner. The cleaner will only run on high speed.

Like the zodiac mx6 cleaner but what makes it keep turning on it's side. Do we have to keep uprighting it ????

A  Answered on 10/31/2017 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi, Rolf. The cleaner should stay in the upright position at all time. To troubleshoot this issue "Verify that the hose float is positioned correctly. The hose float should be on the hose closest to the cleaner approximately 9 inches from the cleaner." For other troubleshooting tips see page 10 of the Zodiac MX6 Owner's Manual

Will this work for inground vinyl pools? In other words, will it damage the liner.

A  Answered on 9/15/2015 by InyoPools Product Specialist Joe S.

Notice for Vinyl Liner Pools: Before installing your pool cleaner, examine the interior of your pool carefully. If the vinyl liner is brittle or has stones, wrinkles, roots or metal corrosion in contact with the underside of the liner, or has damage to the base material or supporting walls, do not install the cleaner before having a qualified professional perform the necessary repairs or liner replacement. Zodiac Pool Systems, Inc. (Zodiac) will not be responsible for liner damage caused by a cleaner which is in disrepair, pattern removal from a vinyl liner, or a cleaner used in a pool having an aged or deteriorated liner. What is the best pool cleaner to use with a variable speed pump?

A  Answered on 3/23/2015 by InyoPools Product Specialist Robert M.

We would recommend the Zodiac MX6. The cleaner was specifically designed for the low flow of a variable speed pump.

This Zodiac MX6 Suction Cleaner is one of the best pool cleaners we have ever purchased. Can't seem to get it to crawl up the walls of the pool yet.
