PB4-60 (INCLUDES DRAIN PLUG W/ ORING) NEW STYLE
I have a Century 0-173840-23 pump that has been leaking for awhile at the bottom drain screw area. It recently cracked on the housing and I need to replace the volute housing. Can you help me to figure out which housing I need, and whether or not I should also buy a seal kit to stop the drip at the bottom? Pics attached.
Hi Travis, it looks like your Polaris PB4-60 booster pump was made between 1994-2011 (it is easy to tell by the "spines" on the volute) so you need this Polaris Booster Pump Housing Volute for PB460 - P5. You may also want to replace the O-ring, Bracket To Volute (258) O-Ring when servicing it and the PS-1000 motor shaft seal as well. Be sure to put some lubricant on the new o-ring to help it last a long time.

Hello Thomas. The Zodiac PB4-60 Volute R0536300 is the correct Volute for the PB4-60 model years 2011 - Current. PB4-60 Volute (INCLUDES DRAIN PLUG W/ ORING) - R0536300 The Zodiac PB4-60 Volute P5 is the correct Volute for the PB4-60 model years 1994 - 2011. Polaris Booster Pump Housing Volute for PB460 - P5 Visually these volutes are dissimilar. The R0536300 has curved spines on the volute face radiating from the center, the P5 has straight spins radiating from the center.

Perfect fit. Replaced my cracked and leaking original volute. Don't bother buying the big o-ring that seals this to the backplate. It comes with a new one.
