Is this for 2 inch pipe? And is this a compression fitting? No glue?

Yes, this is designed for 2" pvc. It is not a compression fitting. You would glue the 2" pvc plumbing into the union.

This is for 2" but it does require glue.

Is the union a threaded connection that can be removed from the valve? If it is a threaded connection do you have any recommendations to reduce the chance of a leak?

great fit. sturdy construction it allows me to take apart my plumbing work and put it in the shed for the winter so that the vavles dont get broken from the little bit of water left inside that turns to ice
