Just purchased this cover to temporarily cover a pool slated to be replaced or filled in. Does it matter performance wise if it is installed black side up?

The black underside prohibits algae growth all winter long. The disadvantage is you will not be utilizing this feature if the black side is up.

I have a 16x34 inground pool with steps on the right hand side, the steps are 4 x 8, which makes my pool at one point 20 x 34, but only where the steps are, otherwise the width is just 16, what size would you suggest I get to cover my pool for the winter?

Will water drain thru cover? If not how do I keep the rain from pooling on the cover? The sides that hold the cover down are made of what?

Hi Robert. This cover will not allow water to drain into the pool, you will need a Winter Cover Pump. The water tubes are made out of vinyl.
