Took off front and rear ledge cover. Removed the four screws from the ledges. Took off three screws from old plate and replaced with new plates. Replaced screws and completed the reinstallation of the ledges. Placed rear ledge cover back on and front ledge cover. Took approximately 10 minutes to complete entire process.

Rusty top plates on 26 year old Leisure Bay 24' pool

Written on 7/11/2020 by Guest

First step was to remove the top plate plastic covers from 3 sections of the pool. Then the top rails could be removed from two sections to allow full access to the rusty top plate.

Removed three screws which fastened the top plate to the upright and carefully removed the rusty top plate. This was also the perfect time to treat the inside walls of the upright with some bug killer (lots of spiders in the South).

Installed new top plate with new stainless steel screws and then reinstalled the top rails with new stainless steel screws. Last step was to reinstall the plastic top plate covers. Perfect fit with no issues.
