what is the difference between zinc anode replacements 0173-3 and 104RKIT

Hi. Item # 0173-3 is a complete system, Item # 104RKIT is just the replacement anode.

I can see there is crude around zinc. Chemicals, minerals? Some white some with green cast. Do I need to take this off and rinse plastic casing?

Hello Manuel, yes you would want to take this apart and clean the unit. It would be the residue from the metals it is attracting.

How often does this need to be replaced?

The Zinc Anode will need to be replaced approximately every 3 years or when it is 1/2 its original size.
