How many hours per day should I run my pump?
Reply
There are many factors to consider; bather load, gallons of water, pump horsepower, type and size of filter just to name a few. A good guideline is 8-10 hours a day. On the cooler days and early and late season, you can cut the run time down to 4-6 hours because there is usually less swimmers and cooler water requires less chemicals. In peak season, when it is the hottest, raising the run time to 10-12 hours per day will help to keep the pool clean and circulating during it’s time of heaviest use.

Is this a medium or high head pump ?. I have to lift 20ft to pool heater on roof.

This would be a medium head pump. It's going to be hard to find a 1.5HP single speed pump that is high-head nowadays because of all the changes in regulations. Most of the high-head pumps have to be variable speed. I'd recommend something like Hayward W3SP3202VSP if you need to lift the water up 20'.

(5 out of 5 stars) Great Pump for the Price!

My old pump died after 10 years, and I couldn’t afford a pricey variable speed one. Took a chance on the Pure Flow II, and it’s been great. The included unions made installation super easy, and it’s been running strong ever since.
