I need a replacement Salt Cell for Hawward - AquaRite.
Youshow Pureline T-15 for up to 40000Gal Pool. I have a 23000 Gal Pool.
Do you have a T-Cell -9 25000 gal Cell?
And, if so whats the price.
Reply
Hi Jim, Our suggestion for your sized pool is this 40,000-gallon cell. The reason being is that since it generates more chlorine you can dial it down to a lower setting thus getting longer life out of the cell compared to the T-Cell-9 also if you get into an algae bloom situation you can really crank up the chlorine production with this salt cell. Finally pretty much all of the AquaRite Power supplies accept the T-Cell-15 where not all versions of the AquaRite power supply accept the T-Cell-9.

Are the end threads the same as the Aquarite or will different plumbing be needed?
They are the same threads as the Aquarite. I personally have swapped out a Aquarite for a Pureline Cell. Easy to do.

Is this unity compatible with Pureline Chlorinating system with software r646? F-15?
Hi Bernard, unfortunately, this cell is not compatible with the Pureline Crystal Pure salt system. If your unit was purchased from 2016 to current and has the option to change the cell version then you can use the cell part number PL7727.

I'm not sure if I need a new cell or a new main board. A couple days ago, my Aqua Rite SWG stopped generating chlorine, and only the "Power" light is on (all other lights are off). My display readings are as follows:
Salt level: 2600
30.9 volts
0.00 amps
Instant salinity: -0
AL-5
r1.33
If I need a new cell, do you sell an aftermarket one for Aqua Rite Software Rev. 1.33?
Thanks for your help!
Good afternoon, yes based on your readings you would need to order the PureLine Pureline Replacement T-15 Cell for AquaRite. This unit would work with any Hayward system that needs a T-Cell15 replacement.

How often do the cells are a saltwater pool have to be replaced
Reply
Hi. Most cells are to be replaced 3-5 years if your pool runs year round and longer if seasonal.
Reply
Confirm that 1 initial cost to go to salt $1259 for 40,000 gallon pool plus some misc parts plus 2 pool start up each year you add 25 bags of #40 salt to the water or $150 additional @$6/bag/year 3 the inline salt T device replacement every 3-5 years for $579 4 year 1 = $1259 + $150 +$100 misc or $1500 ish so if I move to salt factoring the initial cost averages 500 per year for first 3 years then the replacement inline T cost $579 seems a lot
Reply
Hi, Eric. They are other advantages of switching to a salt pool, it is gentler on the eyes and skin, reduce storing and handling of unsafe chemicals, over chlorinating your pool, and softer-feeling water.

Hi, can you respond to this Hayward marketing language:
"Beware of Imitations
With other replacement cells, you get what you pay for: lower quality and shorter operating life. Through independent tests by the leading authority in electrolytic cells, some generic cells have been shown to have 75% less operating life than a Genuine Hayward T-CELL-15."
Also, if you state that the typical cell lasts 3-5 years, why only offer a 2 year warranty?
Reply
Hi Ben we do agree with Hayward that there are some After Market salt cell which are of very low quality. The reason being is that many manufacturers use a low quality material for the cell blades inside of the salt cell. The cell blades are what make your chlorine, when the cell blades go bad is when the salt cell needs to be replaced. The blades are titanium and then coated with a material called ruthenium. The cell blades used in the PureLine after market cell are made in the U.S.A and are made to the same quality as the Hayward blades. Other after market cells have the blades made in China and the quality is lower. The cell will last for 7,000 hours so if someone rruns the cell 24-7 365 days per year then this would be 10,000 hours per year. An average pool owner would run the system 4 hours per day at 365 days or 1,500 hours per year. This is why we have set the warranty at 2 yrs which we feel is strong compared to other salt cells.

Will the GRC40GH be recognized by my Hayward Aquarite control? Will the unions match up the same way?

The GRC40GH is manufactured by CompuPool and will match the thread pattern of the pre-existing unions (the cell does not come with unions). To date we have sold quite a few of these units and have had no reports of any incompatibility issues.

I unscrewed the old T15 Cell and then replaced it with the new one and plugged it in to the control board.
I have a Hayward Aqua Rite System, so at the box you need to re-calibrate your cell.
I flipped the black slide button down, then back up to middle, waited to hear the click then pressed the small black button 5 times and waited for it to calibrate. Once the numbers on the digital screen stopped moving, then I pushed the black slide button up, then right back down to the middle. Simple as that! Easy fix!

Purchased the new T-15 Cell from Inyo Pools. The price was great, we received it in just a couple of days, and the new cell fit perfectly. It lined up easily and went on with no problems. We were swimming again immediately, which was a nice change. Thank you Inyo Pools. Once again you came through for us with no hassles.

Shut down power to pump, control panel, lights, ancillary breakers.
Locate salt cell, loosen unions if possible by hand.
In my case they had been overly tightened on the unions so I used a pair of Channel Locks (large) to loosen the unions.
Unions on salt cells from Hayward always have opposite turning. one end is lefty loosy other end is righty loosy.
Gently loosen and then use hands to remove salt cell. trace wire to plug on control panel/aquarite system and unplug.
Lubricate o rings if necessary.
Install New Pureline replacement,
plug wire into control panel/aquarite
Flip breakers on.

(5 out of 5 stars) Found an excellent T-Cell replacement for my Hayward T-Cell-15
Reviewed By: Inyo Customer ()
I have the Goldline Aqua Rite Salt Chlorine Generator with software revision "1.58" including the Hayward T-Cell-15. I had two problems. #1, there were salt readings of 5,000 and above from both test strips and at the pool store and #2 were two illuminated 'check salt' and 'inspect cell' red indicator lights. For problem #1, working with my local pool store, I lowered the pool water by approximately 25% or my case 4,000 gallons and refilled it. I then checked the salt readings for the next couple of days and the salt reading reduced substantially to 3,450 ppm. With the salt levels in good shape, I decided to tackle the second problem, yes, the two red illuminated lights. I started with how to properly clean the T-Cell and found Inyopool.com. They have a great how-to video which showed step-by-step instructions. Unfortunately, because my T-Cell is 7 years old, cleaning it did not work. After spending several hours researching T-Cell replacements, I decided to purchase the Pureline PL7106 from Inyopools.com as a replacement to the Hayward T-Cell-15. I had not previously purchased pool supplies from Inyopools.com but because of their excellent ratings and how-to videos, I decided to give them a try. Ordering the part was easy and it was at my door in two days. Note: the two O-rings ARE included. Inyopools has a video showing how to replace the T-Cell...it's easy. Once installed, I still received a red-blinking 'check salt' indicator light. It was showing 2,500ppm which I knew was too low. So, I viewed yet a third video on the Inyopools.com website regarding 'how to recalibrate the salt reading'. Once I recalibrated the system, I now see two green lights, that is the 'Power and Generating' lights. I just installed the Pureline yesterday, but early signs are good and if longer term results stay the same I will be a happy camper. I hope the details of this review helps you with your specific problem. Lastly, I rarely provide reviews but thought this was worth the time.

(5 out of 5 stars) Fully compatible with the original brand name and for almost half the price
Reviewed By: Inyo Customer ()
Was $400 cheaper than the original hayward aquaplus cell. Installed it just yesterday, appears to be working fine. Showing correct salt level and producing chlorine. (The old one which was an original hayward gave out after 3.5 years of use. One way to tell when they are no longer working is when they give you inaccurate salt levels, mine was showing I had 2500 ppm of salt when my TDS meter was showing 4200.) Hoping it will give me at least 4-5 years of use. We'll see. But material wise it looks like an exact replica of the hayward model without the hayward sticker. I'll keep you posted and let you know how long it will last.
