If I replace my two speed Whisperflo motor with this VS, what will I do with my current timer/switch? Does it get bypassed completely and I just use the programming on the motor?

Hello David. The Pentair Whisperflo VS Motor Upgrade Kit MKIT32VS16 is compatible with the Whisperflo model WF-24. The MKIT32VS16 will upgrade the Whisperflo WF-24 from a 1.0 HP Single Speed pump to a 1.65 HP Variable Speed pump.

I do not know which whisperflo pump i have because the sticker faded. So I am not sure if the upgrade kit is compatible. My replacement pump i currently have is US motor 56y 1.5 HP 230 volt square flange (if this helps). Also, if i were to replace my single motor to this VS motor, would I have to change my pump or any other piping along with this new upgrade motor? A local pool guy said he will come and change "everything" but wasn't sure if he meant all pipes just to make the new motor work.

The MKIT32VS16 contains all the necessary parts, seals, and gaskets to complete the motor change. Your current Whisperflo Pump Body will remain installed, no plumbing alterations are necessary. If you wished to transition to a new variable speed pump, the replacement would be the Pentair SuperFlo® VS 1.5 HP Variable Speed Pool Pump - EC-342001

Hello. The new Impeller is included in the Pentair Whisperflo VS Motor Upgrade Kit - 1.65HP - MKIT32VS16 in order to provide the correct Impeller mating to the VS Motor's horsepower. Impellers are rated for horsepower and must be mated with motor horsepower to produce the desired pump performance.

The WhisperFlo WF-26 is a 1.5 HP Up Rate Pump with a total horsepower of 1.65. Attached please find the Pentair Whisperflo Pump exploded parts diagram for reference. The variable speed motor EVQ165 provided with the MKIT32VS16 has a total horsepower of 1.65.

Thank you for your prompt response to my last question. I have one more. The WF-26 pump I currently have operates with an Intermatic timer. if I upgrade with the Whisperflow VS motor upgrade kit, can I bypass the Intermatic timer?

Hello Joel, yes you can bypass or just leave your Intermatic timer on with no trippers and just use your variable speed pump internal 24 hour clock for your running programs.

I would be replacing a Century 177452 (2 hp) mated to a Whisperflo WFE-8 (56Y) I see the hp of this pump is 1.65 but no service factor listed. Is the 1.65 hp the most, or equivalent I can get out of this pump?
