I have an AquaRite which is 5 Years old and think my software is different then the new cell requires. Which cell do I need?
 Reply

If you have an older unit (older than 2009) than you would require the GLXCELL15W which you may view or purchase here http://www.inyopools.com/Products/02100002048034.htm

Hi Steven, If your system originally came with a T9 cell, then you don't have to worry about the software revision. The system will tell you the software revision by scrolling through the menu or pressing the diagnostic button until you get to the software option.

I have a 15 cell but i think they over killed it so how do i figure out what size pool i have?
 Reply

Hi David, You can use this Pool Volume Calculator to figure out what size pool you have, however we do suggest oversizing the salt cell as you will get much longer life out of the cell.

Is there a repair kit for this cell? The outside plastic is leaking at the place where pieces fit together just below the top where the water comes into the cell.

Hello, Unfortunately this just comes as one complete cell no repair kits for TCELL9.

I have always had the t 15 cell replacement as that was the original setup, I did have to replace the mother board and now need a new cell. I know the cells have to compatible with the mother board. I now operate on r 1.58. What are my options for a cell. Pool volume is actually around 18k gallons. The t-15 was overkill but that was the original setup. Will a t-9 work on this firmware?
 Reply

A  Answered on 10/3/2017 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi, Kevin. You can use the TCELL9 with your current system, however, the TCELL9 will not last as long as the TCELL15. The larger the cell capacity to your pool the less it will have to work causing the cell to last longer.

Hi, David R. I will need to know the model or name of the controller, the software revision and the size of your pool in order to locate which cell you can use.

My Aquarite T-9 is not producing chlorine. Looking at the diagnostics, the Cell Current is reading 0.0. Everything else looks normal. The cell is clean and the salt level is about 2800 or higher. Does this mean the cell is shot? Or is it the chlorinator box? Both? My T-9 is still under warranty. If the cell is shot, how do I use the warranty? Thanks for your help.

I replaced the PCB 3 days ago everything was fine today. I go out 2 days later and its flashing low salt 0000 reading on the salt cell volts were like 23 cell amp 0. Cut it off then back on everything is working fine again the salt is reading about 3800 and it is 2950 per my test kit though. Its like the cell loses amps after a day or so.

It was a aftermarket cell it was only a year old my original Hayward cell also only lasted one year. Guess I'm going to buy another Hayward cell just to have the system with all new parts but its disappointing because my entire system was purchased in 2016.

This does not necessarily mean that cell needs to be replaced, did you reset diagnostic button after cleaning if not then the check cell light will come on. Here is a guide On How to Determine if My Salt Cell Needs to be Replaced which you should find helpful

Does the AquaRite 25K Replacement Cell - W3T-CELL-9 cone with the two round unions to attach the cell to the existing piping. This would be a direct replacement for my Hayward T9 cell. And I am in NY...how fast can I get it?

A  Answered on 5/15/2020 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

Hi Steve, No the cell does not come with the unions, normally you would use your old unions. We do sell replacement unions here - Hayward AquaRite Unions. Yes this is the correct replacement cell for the T9 cell, we do have this in stock and we would estimate 3-7 business days for delivery.

Hello, Ive had my pool since 2016, had a new pump motor installed and now it's grinding a lot. i know I have to replace it but, just noticed that the read out on the aquarite said 2000 yesterday and 1800 this morning. the system shows check salt and cell. just cleaned the cell, and the numbers haven't changed. could the motor be part of the problem? no enough water flowing through the cell? I regularly clean the cell as per the instructions. T-cell-9 or is the cell is bad as well?
 Reply

A  Answered on 7/14/2020 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi, George. The issue with the motor is NOT linked to the AquaRite. You actually have two different issues. The motor bearings or the entire motor will need to be replaced. As for the chlorine generator, the issue could be a failed cell. We will need the system diagnostics in order to confirm.

Is it possible for Salt Cell to read too high? I get a water test to pool company and it reads 2900. Mine reads 3400 and since that is too high it reads that it is off due to high salinity. Is cell bad or a board bad?

Hi Kevin, yes it is possible for the salt reading to read too high. Try recalibrating the level. Use our "How To Recalibrate the Salt Level on a Hayward Aqua Rite" guide.

Good day Melvin, the W3 stands for WWW meaning online sale so Hayward can track the units. The REV would be the firm ware that is needed to run the unit. If you have a 1.2 You would also need to upgrade the board AquaRite Main PCB (OEM) - GLX-PCB-RITE.

Hello Jon.  The AquaRite 25K Replacement Cell - W3T-CELL-9 is the correct replacement for the Hayward TCELL925.  Attached please find the Hayward AquaRite Quick Reference Guide.  If the Inspect cell Light is Flashing, note Reset Inspect Cell Timer.  When the system is generating, scroll through the Diagnostics to Cell Amperage, compare the reading to the Cell Amperage value in the Cell Amperage Section for an indication of proper cell function.  Many retail Pool Stores (Leslie's) have the ability to test Hayward Salt Cells for function.  Additional reference - Troubleshooting Guide Residential

Hello Dr. Hamilton, with the software revision 1.59 you can use a TCELL9 or TCELL15. This software revision has a setting for changing the cell size. The TCELL9 is used for up to 25k gallons of pool water and the TCELL15 is used for swimming pools of up to 40k gallons of water.

The next cell after T9 is the T15 cell. In the diagnostics when setting the cell type you will need to pick the T15 for 40,000.
