I currently have a hayward 300 super filter system for my pool that has a capacity of 90,000 gallons I am running with a hayward pump 200gpm I believe my question is would the performance of upgrading to a higher filteration capacity ( say 350 or better enhance the filtration performance and result in me having a longer duration of time before cleanings circumstances,is there a point where upsizing is of no benefit.

Hi, Installing this unit is not difficult. Once you get it in place you'd run PVC pipes to the correct ports on the filter.

I understand that the cartridges on a cartridge filter are supposed to be cleaned about once a month. How often do the cartridges have to be replaced, e.g., Hayward C3030?

Hi, You should replace your filter cartridges every 2-3 season with a quad filter. However, several factors like pump size, the dirtiness of the pool, how good you clean the cartridge etc. can lead to you having to replace the filter's sooner.

The warranty for the Hayward Swimclear Cart. Filter 325 Sq Ft PART#C3030 is 1-Year from the date of purchase or the date of installation by a Certified Pool Installer (The dated invoice is required). The warranty is handled direct through the manufacturer.

Hi Gary, To determine what size filter you will need for your pool you will need to calculate the "Feet of Head" of your pool and use the performance curve to confirm the flow rate. If at max rpm's the pump does not exceed 122 gpm then the C3030 filter will work.

I am considering switching from a DE filter to a cartridge filter. In one of the answers posted online it says "If you are switching from a de filter to cartridge, you will not get the same water clarity that you have now."
Does that mean the water clarity will be worse or better?

Hi, Jeff. Switch from a D.E. filter to a cartridge filter, the effective filtration will be reduced, however, in some cases, you will not notice the difference.

looking at the hayward 3030 filter. What are the thread sizes of the Drain, Intake. and Output fitings. Also does this 3030 filter come with Unions for Quick Disconect ? Whst size plumbing 1-1/5 or 2 inch ?

Hi Bill, Please click this link to view the Port Dimensions for the Hayward C3030 Filter. This filter does come with unions. This filter is designed to accommodate 2" or 2.5" plumbing. If you have 1.5" plumbing then you can use a common 2" x 1.5" pvc reducer bushing.

Hello Michael. The Hayward Swimclear Cart. Filter 325 sqft - W3C3030 does not require a Multiport Valve. The W3C3030 is a cartridge filter and does not utilize DE. Plumbing connections are made directly into the Inlet and Outlet Ports. Attached please find the SwimClear™ QUAD-CLUSTER CARTRIDGE FILTERS product brochure and the SwimClear Owner's Manual for reference.
