Will a gas heater operate at the low speed of a dual speed motor?
 Reply

A  Answered on 1/16/2012 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

Probably not - Most gas heater will shut off at low GPM levels (20-40) to keep the heater cores from overheating - 20 for 200 BTUs, 40 for 400 BTUs. Depending on your pool system you might get these GPM levels at the low speed but generally these heaters must be run at the motor's high speed.

What is the difference between an Electronic and Millivolt ignition?
 Reply

A  Answered on 10/10/2012 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

The basic answer is that Millivolt is the old style of ignition, using a standing pilot light. While the electronic ignition uses a spark start system like a gas grill. Electronic ignitions are more efficient in gas usage and also are better suited for high wind areas where a pilot light might get extinguished.

Are your heaters suitable for salt water pools?

Gregory, The Jandy Legacy Heaters are suitable for salt water, however a heater with a cupro nickel heat exchanger will offer added protection in a salt water environment.

I am repeatedly running into a "high temp fault". My vendor has fixed the unit 3 times for the same issue.

You are going to need to replace the high limit sensors and wires which is part number 6204-217.

can this unit be converted to lp gas
 Reply

A  Answered on 4/26/2017 by InyoPools Product Specialist Scott W.

You would need to replace the gas valve, manifold assembly, and orifice set. I recommend giving Jandy a call, 800-822-7933, to confirm there would be nothing else you need to convert it from natural gas to propane.

You would need the gas valve, manifold assembly, and orifice set, but I would contact Jandy, 800-822-7933, to confirm that is all you would need to convert your heater from natural gas to propane.

Heater not working. There is an orange glow under the burners but does not kick on. There is a click and nothing happens. The control panel indicates check ignitor control. What is most likely cause and fix

Hi, Michael. The ignitor may not be getting hot enough to ignite the gas or there is not sufficient gas flow to be ignited. You can use the General Heater Troubleshooting Section of the Jandy Legacy Heater Manual to diagnose the issue.

Im looking for a heat exchanger. What is the part #

If you click here you can view the parts diagram for this unit. The exchanger is listed at key 42. You can use a standard copper exchanger or a cupronickel one which is more corrosive resistant.
