You should change the sand in your filter every 5-7 years. You can generally tell that it is time if your pool water is not as clear as it normally is or when you notice the interval between backwashes is shorter. You can use > this guide to walk you through it.

What is the kit closure for? I have an ancient TR100 that has a 8 1/2" western series dome. The dome is broken and the part is obsolete. The diameter of the lid is 8.5". Could this kit replace the clear dome? Thanks

I called Pentair Technical Assistance ( 800-831-7133 ) and asked them. They said for a filter that is older than 2001, the part number I was given is Pentair 154856 - which is our part number 4600-4856.

How many gallon pool will a Triton II work for? We have a model 140210. Can the valve on the side be converted into a multi position valve such as bottom filter, skimmer filter, backwash filter and both bottom and skimmer?

Hi, The Triton II TR100 Filter Side Mount 30" Tank has a flow rate of 98 GPM. It can handle 47,040 in an 8 hour period. You can use a Multi-port valve based on the size plumbing you have. The Valves can be found via the Pentair Triton 2 Fiberglass Sand Filter Parts.

hi i have a triton model Tr100 serial. 16070. We changed the sand but the backwash valve is broken Do you have a replacement?

My pool pump says it's a Aquatech Corp by Pentair Pool and has a sticker on it that has 140202. The sticker is torn so I can't see any other details of the filter. Do you know what size filter and how many pounds of sand this one is? I'm trying to buy a replacement one and have no idea which to buy. Thanks!!

Hi Keri, I was not able to cross reference the number provide to a specific Pentair model. If you can send us photos along with the tank diameter and height we can find out the size.

Hello, This is the standard Triton 2 filter without the Clear Pro Technology. At this time, we do not carry the newer version.

I have a Pentair Triton 2 sand filter and need to replace the backwash valves. I was going to replace it with a Hayward backwash valve. Will this work?

Hi Bob, No the Hayward Valve will not fit on the Triton Filter. You would need one of the valves listed on the Pentair Triton Parts Page.

Hi, Mel. We will need more info about your pool like the pool size, and water features if any to determine your flow rate. If I were to make a decision based on the info provided I would recommend the Whisperflo Pump - WFE-4.

I just had my filter changed from a Triton TR 100 sand filter to a Pentair 420 clean and clear plus cartridge filter. Is this a comparable size for my pool which I'm showing a surface area of 530 ft. 15 1/2 x 32', 92 inch perimeter, 3 x 5 x 4 depth.

Whats is the difference between the Triton II clear pro and the Triton Pentair TR? Can I connect Triton filter to an Astral or Kripsol pump?

Hi, John. The models with the ClearPro Technology is able to filter your pool 4 times better than with a conventional sand filter which will be models without the ClearPro. You can use an Astral or Kripsol Pump to operate your filter as long as it does not exceed the filter's flow rate.

when mixing gravel and sand for triton II, is it gravel on bottom and sand on top or does it matter and wind up mixed as it is ran? If gravel on bottom, is should the gravel cover the "fingers" or stop just below?

I have a split on a 25year old Triton TR100 and it needs replaced. This runs an 83ft water feature with 54 x 2 x 1 creek going into an 28 x 15 x 2.5 pond with 3 small waterfalls. The last figure on both is average water depth...first figures are L x W in feet. The feature does not have skimmers...just a side inlet to the filter and return runs 130 feet around ext of feature to the the 3 falls...I like waterflow to be strong to accent features...rural are a with pine droppings. Recommendations?

I have a Triton II TR-100. There is a leak at the bottom drain. I try unscrewing the black part but in unscrews a bit and then won't unscrew any more. And, is leaking water/sand while everything is off. How do I get the part off and then clean up and back on?

can i use Zeo-sand in the TR100 with the new Clear Pro technology? Or would I get the same filtration using Zeo-sand in the standard TR100?

This is not an easy job, remove all sand clean tank out, may need turn turn upside down to install new drain assy. Make sure to check all laterals when cleaning and remove and replace worn or damaged.

can you email me a diagram with measurments between pipes, bottom pipe to ground level. I need to know if all levels of pipes are going to line up. also need to know whats inside tank and does it have a water waste valve at bottom for winterizing. thanks
