HOW MUCH WATTAGE DO I USE ON A 11000 GAL POOL TO MAKE I WORK AS GOOD AS MY 1HP PUMP. AND WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THIS PUMP AND A THREE SPEED PUMP?
 Reply

A  Answered on 3/29/2016 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi, Unfortunately we do not have the wattage info. This pump can be run at different speed, unlike a 3 speed pump can only run on the three pre-programmed speeds. This pump give you more options.

Is a speed vs. GPM data sheet available? What is the programmable speed range for this pump and what are the incremental steps in this range if any?

Hi Bob, This Raypak Variable Speed Pool Pump Brochure should have all the information you have requested.

Greetings, can the speed control pad be removed and wall mounted about 25' from the pump?

I don't see why not but I would recommend giving RayPak a call to have them walk you through that if it's a possibility. There number is 805-278-5300

I have an Intermatic manual timer with a Hayward salt system that is wired to come on at the same time as the timer kicks on the pump. Can this pump be installed without having to replace the Intermatic and/or rewire the salt system?
 Reply

A  Answered on 7/3/2016 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi David, This pump requires a timer to turn it on/off. So it can be wired to the same timer as the chlorine generator to avoid any rewiring.

Will this pump work with my excisting 1 1/2" plumping from my old pump?
 Reply

A  Answered on 8/9/2016 by InyoPools Product Specialist Alan M.

The port sizes on this pump are 2". The closest VS Pump with a 1-1/2" plumbing is the Hayward Super Pump VS Variable Speed Pump - SP2600VSP.

Can the controller be re-oriented, re-positioned or mounted on a vertical surface for better programming access? If so, any instructions would be appreciated.
 Reply

A  Answered on 8/24/2016 by InyoPools Product Specialist Joe S.

This drive assembly can not be re-positioned.  You can however add the User Interface Offboard Mounting Kit V-Green - 2512723-001 with the V-Green 270 User Interface - 2520652-001.

I have 1.5 inch plumbing. I know this pump has 2 inch ports but if i used a reducer will my 1.5 inch pipes handle the output of this pump. I currently have a 3/4 HP pentair super flow with a pentair sd-60 sand filter.
 Reply

A  Answered on 3/17/2017 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi, You can use a reducer with this pump, however, if you run it at the RPM's it will cause back pressure because the flow will be too much for 1.5" pipes and for that filter.

Hi Paul, Yes this would be a great replacement pump for the pool set up you have described.

Should the suction in the skimmer always have suction? Mine doesn't have suction all of a sudden. The jets are flowing.
 Reply

A  Answered on 5/28/2017 by InyoPools Product Specialist Hector F.

Yes, the skimmer should have suction. There are a number of reasons why it may not including, a suction valve needing to be adjusted, the rpm setting on a variable speed or dual speed being too low, a clogged line, a dirty or old filter or maybe even a clogged impeller. I would inspect such things first.

I installed this with my Aqualink RS8 per the wiring diagram in the manual. When I have dip switch 1 on as directed the pump always runs in override regardless of the Aqualink mode. Any idea what I need to change?

Hi, Kevin. I would recommend verify that Dip switch 1 is ON and Dip switch 5 is OFF and triple check the wiring.

how to set the start time on a v-green 165 pool pump
 Reply

A  Answered on 7/24/2017 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi. This pump requires an external timer to tell the pump when to turn on and off. Once you've set the desired on and off time, you'll have to edit the Steps with the desired RPM and Duration settings.

I have a Hayward SP3010 2 speed 2HP pump, would this be a good replacement? and does this unit come with a programmable controller?

Hi, Andy J. This pump performance is not as good as the Super II Pump. However, you can use this pump if it can meet your pool needs. You can use the steps in our How To: Size a Pool Pump guide. A programmable controller does come with this pump.
