Is the plastic on the top and bottom hard plastic or more pliable? Our original one was more pliable and when we bought a replacement last year the plastic was hard and it did not fit correctly

Hi Melissa, The top and bottom ends of these cartridges is made with hard plastic, it is not pliable.

How long do they filter cartridges last? I have a Sta-Rite System 2 Modular Media Filter, it is approx 4 years old. I clean and rinse 2-3 times a season as the pump pressure rises.
It appears to look fine after i clean it. However pressure has increased in 3 days after i cleaned it which is unusual.
